Care for Kids La Paz is proud to have a voluntary, nationally and internationally represented group of people who care about the welfare of children, are dedicated to changing the face of poverty and improving lives of impoverished children and their families in La Paz, BCS, Mexico.
We would like you to meet some of these special people – our executive board and volunteers – who make it all possible…
Juanita, with her son, Angel, have been volunteers in our charity
since its inception. She’s a very important part of our organization
being the link between Care for Kids La Paz and the community.
But more so because she’s loyal, trustworthy, keeps us organized
and has a huge heart. A few years back, she realized a dream of opening
a small store at her home which keeps her very busy. She is truly a
model of inspiration for the community.
Josefina has been with us since the beginning. She offered the front
yard of her home where we served the kids’ breakfast for the charity’s
first six years. Josefina is an affiliate in a company which sells shoes
from a catalogue. We buy the gym shoes and Josefina makes a percentage
off each one. Helping women succeed!
Perla and Abi love to help. I have known Perla and her whole family for
the past 10 years. She lives in the community and seems to know everyone.
Abi is a newcomer to La Paz. Her English is impeccable and she does a lot
of translating for us. Both Perla and Abi are a delight to work with.
These are some of the moms who also volunteer. They are hard workers,
want to see the children of the community succeed in their lives and
understand the importance of service. Each women has her own story
to tell but she always tells it with love. They are the bread and butter
of our charity.
Tatiana is a British citizen assigned in La Paz by the British Council,
a registered charity, and the Mexican Secretariat of Public Education
to teach English for a year at the university level. Tatiana is passionate
about improving the lives of children and their families, has a degree
in music, and has begun an informal singing group with young children.
The baby in her arms is one of the newest members of the community.
